SHORT COURSES 2011 - 2012

Reading the Dream: Working with Dreams in Biographical Counselling
with Cordula Falt and Paul Matthews
16 – 18 March 2012

In dreaming, the conscious and unconscious parts of our soul come into dialogue. When we remember our dreams, we have the chance to make deeper contact with our Self, and this engagement is further enhanced when dreams are worked with in the counselling process.

To understand a dream we need to learn to read it like a map. This does not mean interpreting the dream, but bringing a feeling response to it and working mainly with the feelings and dynamics that arose for the dreamer while dreaming it.

In this weekend, the states of consciousness - waking, dreaming and sleeping - will all be explored together with a method of reading our dreams. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own dreams as well as their clinical experience of dream work. Supervised biographical counselling practice and creative writing will accompany and deepen the theme.

This course is a weekend module within Year 3 of the Diploma Course in Biographical Counselling. It is open to all counsellors/psychotherapists who are interested in exploring the approach of biographical counselling to working with dreams.

Cordula Falt is a psychological psychotherapist, coach and supervisor, working in Germany, Switzerland and England. She trains medical doctors and colleagues in Anthroposophical Psychotherapy.
